We don’t really know anything about Christopher Nolan’s next film Tenet. The story that this film tells has been successfully kept a secret. All we’ve had to go on was a brief IMAX trailer that told us nothing and now we have two photos to share with you. The first photo gives us a new look at John David Washington and a first look at Robert Pattinson. The second one features Washington and Elizabeth Debicki in the background.

The photo was shared by Entertainment Weekly, and they interviewed Nolan, who said that this is his most ambitious film to date. He also gives us a little tease of what we can expect from the movie:

“We’re jumping off from the point of view of an espionage film, but we’re going to a number of different places. We’re crossing a few different genres in a hopefully exciting and fresh way. [Producer] Emma [Thomas] and I have put together a lot of large-scale productions, but this is certainly the biggest in terms of international reach. We shot in seven countries, all over the place, with a massive cast and huge set pieces. There’s no question, it’s the most ambitious film we’ve made.”

Nolan has made some pretty ambitious movies in his career, so to say that this is his most ambitious is exciting! Nolan went on to praise John David Washington, saying that the actor is “very much the hero” of the movie, and adds:

“He’s an athlete and pretty hard for anybody to keep up with, including the different vehicles we shot him from — cars and helicopters.  This guy moves.”

The movie also stars Dimple KapadiaAaron Taylor-JohnsonClémence PoésyMichael Caine, and Kenneth Branagh. There’s a chance that we’ll get to see a new trailer for it in front of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. That trailer will eventually make its way online.

Tenet opens in theaters on July 17, 2020.
