Universal Pictures has released a final trailer for director Sam Mendes’s upcoming World War I film 1917. This film looks absolutely incredible and it’s one I’ve been waiting and excited to see since it was first announced. It looks like Mendes has delivered a spectacular film that tells an amazing and inspiring story.

The movie was filmed in a way to make it look like the whole story was told in one continuous shot. It’s pretty ambitious feat, but from what I’ve heard from people that have seen the film, the creative team managed to perfectly pull it off.

Mendes is the same filmmaker that previously brought us Skyfall, Spectre, American Beauty, and Road to Perdition. He also gathered together a great cast that includes Colin Firth, Benedict Cumberbatch, Richard Madden, George MacKay, Dean-Charles Chapman, and Andrew Scott.

Here is the synopsis for the film:

At the height of the First World War, two young British soldiers, Schofield (Captain Fantastic’s George MacKay) and Blake (Game of Thrones’ Dean-Charles Chapman) are given a seemingly impossible mission. In a race against time, they must cross enemy territory and deliver a message that will stop a deadly attack on hundreds of soldiers—Blake’s own brother among them.

1917 is set to get a limited release on December 25th, 2019 and then it will go wide on January 10th, 2020. I also included an IMAX poster for you to check out below the trailer.
