John Krasinski’s A Quiet Place ended up being a hit with audiences, and while it really doesn’t need a sequel, a sequel is coming. Today we have our first look at A Quiet Place 2, and it features Emily Blunt continuing to survive in this world silence with her kids (Millicent Simmonds and Noah Jupe).
Krasinski returned to direct the sequel which will offer a whole new perspective on this world that has been created, and it will shed some light on some of the other people who are still surviving the deadly and terrifying alien threat that has invaded the world
According to Total Film/Games Radar, A Quiet Place 2 picks up immediately after A Quiet Place. Krasinski also explained to the outlet that the sequel will find Blunt looking to thrive in the world versus surviving:
“I love the idea of the first one, that Emily and I as characters were all about surviving versus the thriving. All [my character] wanted to do was survive. And [her character] says, ‘That’s not enough. We have to thrive. We have to let these kids be whole human beings’. And after I’m gone, I’m loving seeing Emily really battle with that – that maybe survival was the way to go. And maybe this idea of thriving was too dangerous.”
The movie also stars Djimon Hounsou and Cillian Murphy. A Quiet Place 2 heads to theaters on March 20, 2020.
