Mighty Morphin #8 has released and it’s got some very interesting implications. Ryan Parrott, Marco Renna, Walter Baiamonte, Katia Ranalli, Sara Antonellini, and Ed Dukeshire are telling an incredible story over at BOOM! Studios. You can purchase your copy of the comic from your local comic shop, comiXology (affiliate link), or wherever you like to buy comics.

I’m going to pick up where the preview leaves off. We have Aisha using the Griffonzord to save Tommy and they’re able to even things out. We also get Tommy saying that he thinks Aisha might be a better leader for the Rangers than him. Then we go over to Promethea with the other Rangers, Matt, Grace, Zedd, Goldar, and more. Zedd once again explains that he will provide peace and leave if the Rangers provide him with Zordon. The Rangers refuse and start fighting the bad guys with Kim and Candice taking Zedd on. Matt’s been itching to do something this whole time, but Grace has him wait and then as the fight is happening, she finally tells him to move. We’ll come back to the next part later because it’s kind of huge.

We go back out to Aisha and Tommy fighting giant Putties and they’re struggling a bit until Matt shows up with the Dragonzord that Billy has made some modifications to like claws and what appear to be longer arms. Once the giant Putties are out of the way, Matt’s able to destroy the energy shield. This of course ruffles some feathers with Tommy saying that Matt went along with Zedd just so he could take all the credit in the end.

The other Rangers are fighting and Kim is doing a decent job of handing it to Goldar so he requests that Grace get her troops involved. She agrees and says “Banana Bread” which I guess was a code for attacking the putties and Goldar. This leads to a full retreat of everyone with Zedd capturing Candace. He says that he never wanted Angel Grove nor Zordon, just to show the city a life without Rangers. He was playing a psychological game the whole time so now people won’t want the Rangers which is very cunning. Zedd has plans for Candice, and I’m worried. He says he’s going to “enlighten [her] on the true nature of the universe” and I’m concerned.

The army then angrily agrees to leave Angel Grove to the Rangers and then we have Bulk and Skull doing Ranger Station again. They ask people what it was like in “Monster Grove” and the people aren’t all that mad and then there’s an interview with Matt about what happened. Their podcast ends though with Skull asking for help in finding Candice and it’s very sweet and heartbreaking to see him like this. I do also want to say that I love the panel of Rocky doing some art thing with his sister. It’s such a tender panel.

OK, let’s go back to that part I skipped. During all the fighting, Matt contacts Billy who was back at the Command Center. This conversation explains to Zordon that Billy has been going behind his back to help bring about the new Green Ranger and he’s not happy. Now that people know he was involved, Billy’s lost a lot of trust and that’s going to have some big ramifications. Could this go along with my theory that Parrott is planning on skipping the Ninja powers and going to Zeo? We have the Eltarians talking about the Zeo Crystal, Billy probably has to exit soon because there is now 0 trust between him and Zordon and possibly the other Rangers. Another question I have is if we’re going to see the Orange and Purple Rangers make appearances to help recover Candice? I think that could be awesome. Of course, I trust Parrott and am very excited to see where we go from here. He’s done an awesome job of playing around with the world of Power Rangers.

First Poster For JURASSIC WORLD: DOMINION; Extended Preview Coming To IMAX

Jurassic Park franchise star Sam Neill has shared the first poster for director Colin Trevorrow’s Jurassic World: Dominion. The poster puts the focus on a mosquito sucking the blood out of a dinosaur. This is a little throwback to how John Hammond brought the prehistoric creatures back to life. As the poster notes, this is where the whole story all started.

The poster also reveals that there’s an extended preview of the film that will be shown in IMAX theaters during screenings of F9: The Fast Saga. I imagine that means a trailer will be dropping online in the near future.

We still don’t know much about this next chapter in the story, but it is set in a world where dinosaurs have escaped captivity and are living free in the world and it will explore how humanity is dealing with it. Also, Sam Neill previously said that this film will be the “best yet” in the franchise.

Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Justice Smith, and Daniella Pineda are set to star in the upcoming film, and they will be joined by additional original Jurassic Park stars Jeff Goldblum, and Laura Dern, who are all expected to have a major role in the film.

Jurassic World: Dominion is set to hit theaters on June 10th, 2022.

The Mandalorian Season 3 Production Update, Boba Fett Crossover Details

More details about Disney+’s upcoming The Mandalorian Season 3 are emerging, with a recent report from Collider noting that the third season of the show is currently not heading into production.

The report notes that at the moment, stages in Los Angeles are being used for the upcoming Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi limited series, so the plan is to wait until later this year to begin filming The Mandalorian’s third season. Collider’s report also mentions that the delay could be due to Pedro Pascal’s recent commitment to star in HBO’s The Last of Us adaptation, although that’s not been confirmed.

With The Book of Boba Fett recently wrapping production, the outlet also reports that the series is slated to be more of a closely linked spinoff series than previously thought. Sources tell the site that the upcoming Disney+ series will be more of a “The Mandalorian Season 2.5,” with characters from The Mandalorian set to appear in the series.

The Book of Boba Fett sees the return of Temuera Morrison as he reprises his fan-favorite space bounty hunter role as Boba Fett, who was last seen by Star Wars fans during the post-credits scene of the second season finale of The Mandalorian. The series will be executive produced by Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni, who are reportedly trying to adopt Marvel Studios’ successful MCU format.

There are currently two Star Wars prequel spinoffs in production including the Diego Luna-led Andor series and the Ewan McGregor-led Obi-Wan Kenobi, which film in the UK and Los Angeles, respectively. Lucasfilm is also developing two new series which will both be set within The Mandalorian timeline including The Acolyte and Ahsoka, which will be led by Rosario Dawson as fan-favorite Jedi Ahsoka Tano.

Joe Hill’s Dracula Spin-Off ABRAHAM’S BOYS Being Adapted vy 47 METERS DOWN Producing Team

Joe Hill’s Dracula spin-off story Abraham’s Boys.jpg

Tea Shop, the producing team behind the undersea thriller 47 Meters Down has teamed up with writer/director Natasha Kermani (Lucky) to adapt author Joe Hill’s Dracula spin-off story Abraham’s Boys into a feature film.

This will be the third feature for Kermani, whose film Lucky premiered last year at SXSW, and was picked up by Shudder. Hill is a successful writer, known for writing NOS4A2 and the comic Locke & Key, and the son of famed horror writer Stephen King.

“The action-horror story is a follow-up of sorts to Bram Stoker’s Dracula, testing the relationships Stoker formed in his original novel. The plot follows Max and Rudy Van Helsing, who know nothing of their father Abraham’s past and cannot understand his overprotective attitude and strange behavior. To make matters worse, Abraham is becoming increasingly more unhinged, paranoid, and violent. Kermani’s adaptation is set to explore the boys’ trauma through the eyes of a young Asian woman who is no stranger to death.”

Kermani said of the project:

“I’ve always loved Bram Stoker’s Dracula and was immediately drawn to Joe Hill’s unique and personal take on the legend of Van Helsing. Abraham’s Boys is an exciting opportunity to look at a familiar story through a new lens, and to explore classic characters and themes in a contemporary way.”

This sounds like it could be a fun and interesting story. Are you looking forward to this adaptation?

New Trailer for SPACE JAM: A NEW LEGACY Features Iron Giant and King Kong Doing a Fist Bump

Screen Shot 2021-06-09 at 10.25.30 AM.png

I really wanted this Space Jam: A New Legacy Film to be good. I was actually excited about it when it was first announced. The original film holds a special place in my heart and it’s a movie that I still enjoy watching today. But, the more I see of this sequel, the more my interest fades. I’m sure that younger audiences will enjoy it, though! After all, that’s its target market.

Warner Bros. has released a new trailer for the film, and it’s packed full of new footage and story details. One of the main things that stuck out to me was seeing The Iron Giant and King Kong doing a fist bump, which you can see in the screenshot above. It’s just a silly fun moment that I thought was worth pointing out.

The film sees LeBron James and his son get sucked into a computer server called the “Warner 3000 entertainment ‘Server-verse.’“ It here that they find themselves on an adventure with a ton of Warner Bros. movie and TV properties.

Space Jam: A New Legacy was directed by Malcolm D. Lee (of Barbershop: The Next Cut, Girls Trip, Night School). “When LeBron and his young son Dom (Cedric Joe) are trapped in a digital space by a rogue A.I., LeBron must get them home safe by leading Bugs, Lola Bunny and the whole gang of notoriously undisciplined Looney Tunes to victory over the A.I.’s digitized champions on the court: a powered-up roster of professional basketball stars as you’ve never seen them before. It’s Tunes versus Goons in the highest-stakes challenge of his life, that will redefine LeBron’s bond with his son and shine a light on the power of being yourself. The ready-for-action Tunes destroy convention, supercharge their unique talents and surprise even ‘King’ James by playing the game their own way.”

The film is being produced by Ryan Coogler and also stars Star Trek: Discovery‘s Sonequa Martin-Green who was cast as LeBron’s wife, Don Cheadle as the rogue AI named Al-G Rhythm, Ceyair Wright who plays the older son Darius, and Harper Leigh Alexander as his daughter Xosha, and Zendaya as the voice of the character Lola Bunny. Michael Jordan is also supposed to make an appearance.

Space Jam: A New Legacy arrives in theaters on July 16, 2021.
