Vera Farmiga’s Five Best Films

5 best Vera Farmiga films

Vera Farmiga’s five best films is counting down our five favorite films starring Vera Farmiga, who has proven to be a modern horror icon in her decade or so as an actress. Check out our choices in the gallery below!

Rising to relevancy simultaneously on the stage and on the small screen, Vera Farmiga (sister of American Horror Story star Taissa Farmiga) hasn’t stopped moving up in the world ever since making a lasting impression in filmmaker Debra Granik’s debut feature. Since then, the actress has always managed to score multiple notable roles each year—from horror to action to drama to comedy, Farmiga is seemingly unable to be confined to one specific genre.

That’s not to say that she isn’t a modern day Scream Queen, though. Like her sister, Vera Farmiga often finds herself in leading roles in horror films—she’s even managed to help lift up an incredibly acclaimed (and lucrative) cinematic universe based around a highly-praised performance of hers. It, along with several others, ranks among her best roles to date.

Legends of Tomorrow Season 4 Episode 14 Recap

Sara and Mick argue over Mick giving the order to fire on Neron. Sara blames Mick and Charlie for losing Ray, since they were off running a scam at RomantiCon in the previous episode when Ray was taken. Mick growls back that it seems like Sara’s the only one who is allowed to have fun off the ship. Charlie brings the two together to find what Ray would do in such a situation. They find Ray’s emergency guide, but have already tried everything listed, leaving only enjoying their final moments together.

Sara tells Gideon to restore power to the ship, even though it cuts their remaining life support reserves in half. The Legends play Ray’s homebrewed card game about saving the timeline while enjoying light, heat, and cocoa. Turning the power back on has the effect of warming the ship enough to make escape from the ice possible.

Legends of Tomorrow Season 4 Episode 14 Recap

Escaping the Ice Age right before the Waverider fires upon them, Neron takes Constantine to Stonehenge in 55 B.C. There, Constantine comes face to face with his ancestor who began the family’s magical bloodline by preying on the fears of his subjects. The king captures and prepares to send an innocent puca to Hell. Neron explains to Constantine that not everyone in Hell deserves to be there, like Tabitha. Constantine tries to convince the king to release the puca, but is captured and will be sent to Hell along with the puca.

The king summons a vortex to Hell, dragging Constantine and the puca toward it. Constantine, however, is stronger than the king, using his magic to stabilize the portal and defeating the king in combat. Neron battles Constantine next, falling to Constantine’s blade. The Waverider arrives as Constantine is about to send Neron back to Hell. Sara and Mick tell Constantine not to give up on Ray. Facing his greatest fear, Constantine takes the portal to Hell himself in order to find and save Ray. With Constantine gone, Neron summons Tabitha, the fairy godmother. The two rescue Gary from the Time Bureau and teleport away.

There is an Absurd Number of Combinations to Create a D&D Character

If you asked me how many possible Dungeons & Dragons characters there were, I would probably say something like 1,000. That’s a decent number. Well, a Reddit user by the name of Synergenesis decided to do the math. In their post, they breakdown how they came to their conclusion (aka showing your work like all of your teachers ask you to do). The final number was 7,020,285,872,418. That’s over 7 trillion possible combinations. To make that even crazier, Synergenesis only used items in the Player’s Handbook. He didn’t include anything from Xanathar’s Guide to Everything, Volo’s Guide to Monsters, or the other cool official supplements. This is a crazy number! This factors in backgrounds, subraces, subclasses, and multi-classing. How many possible combinations did you think there were?
