Video Reaction – TOP GUN: MAVERICK is One of the Greatest Movies Ever Made! – CinemaCon 2022

Paramount Pictures screened Tom Cruise’s Top Gun: Maverick at CinemaCon and we were there to witness the glory! This movie was absolutely incredible! I’m still flying on the high and as of right now I’m feeling that it’s one of the best movies ever made! It’s definitely one of the best sequels that’s been produced and I can’t wait for all of you to be able to see this incredibly awesome movie for yourself! But, for now, we hope you enjoy our video reaction!

op Gun: Maverick stars Tom Cruise, who is reprising his role from the original film, and he will be joined by Miles Teller as Goose’s son, Glen Powell, Jennifer Connelly, Jon Hamm, Ed Harris, Val Kilmer, and Lewis Pullman. Here’s the synopsis that was previously released:

After more than thirty years of service as one of the Navy’s top aviators, Pete “Maverick” Mitchell (Tom Cruise) is where he belongs, pushing the envelope as a courageous test pilot and dodging the advancement in rank that would ground him. When he finds himself training a detachment of Top Gun graduates for a specialized mission the likes of which no living pilot has ever seen, Maverick encounters Lt. Bradley Bradshaw (Miles Teller), call sign: “Rooster,” the son of Maverick’s late friend and Radar Intercept Officer Lt. Nick Bradshaw, aka “Goose.”

Facing an uncertain future and confronting the ghosts of his past, Maverick is drawn into a confrontation with his own deepest fears, culminating in a mission that demands the ultimate sacrifice from those who will be chosen to fly it.

The movie will be released on May 27th, 2022.

SALEM’S LOT Footage Reaction Video- CinemaCon 2022

Warner Bros. really showed up with a full slate of great-looking upcoming projects. One of the best-looking things they put out was the film adaptation of Stephen King’s classic horror story Salem’s Lot, which is, by far, one of my all-time favorite books. This was some incredibly exciting footage, and we had to share our thoughts on it with you!

Lewis Pullman (Bad Times at the El Royale, Top Gun: Maverick) stars in the film, and he will take on the role of author Ben Mears, “a man who returns to his childhood home of Jerusalem’s Lot in search of inspiration for his next book only to discover his hometown is being preyed upon by a vampire, leading him to band together with a ragtag group that will fight the evil presence.”

The movie also stars Jordan Preston Carter as Mark Petrie, Alfre Woodard as Dr. Cody, Makenzie Leigh as Susan Norton, John Benjamin Hickey as Father Callahan, William Sadler in an as of now unannounced role, and it was directed by Gary Dauberman (It). Salem’s Lot will be released September 9th 2022.

Gargantos Featured in a Clip ForDOCTOR STRANGE IN THE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS

The Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness promotion train is chugging right along. What we have is a clip from the beginning of the movie where Doctor Strange is saving America Chavez from Gargantos. Gargantos is an intergalactic sea monster that has been a Marvel bad guy since 1969. It appears that our aquatic friend is on an at all costs retrieval mission. To get America Chavez regardless of what happens to him or whomever stands in his way.

I have expressed previously that I feel like Strange is essentially his comeback tour. To justify his actions against Thanos and to redeem himself for events that happened during No Way Home. Please check out this scene from Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and enjoy the return of Sam Raimi to the world of superheroes.

Now that Iron Man and Captain America have left after a fierce battle in Avengers: Endgame, former genius surgeon and the strongest magician of them all, Doctor Strange, is expected to play an active role as a central figure in the Avengers. However, using his magic to manipulate time and space at will with a forbidden spell that is considered the most dangerous has opened the door to a mysterious madness called ‘the Multiverse.’ To restore a world where everything is changing, Strange seeks help from his ally Wong, the Sorcerer Supreme, and the Avengers’ most powerful Scarlet Witch, Wanda. But a terrible threat looms over humanity and the entire universe that no longer can be done by their power alone. Even more surprising, the greatest threat in the universe looks exactly like Doctor Strange…

The cast includes Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange, Elizabeth Olsen as Scarlet Witch, Benedict Wong as Wong, Chiwetel Ejiofor as Karl Mordo, Rachel McAdams as Christine Palmer, and Xochitl Gomez as America Chavez.

Video Reaction: THE BLACK PHONE Was Screened at CinemaCon and We Loved It!

Universal Pictures gave us the opportunity to watch director Scott Derrickson’s upcoming horror thriller The Black Phone. This was one of my favorite CinemaCon experiences, and we loved this so much! So we had to do a quick video review of the movie, so check it out to see what we thought!

Ethan Hawke stars in the film and it features him in the most terrifying role of his career. He is joined by Mason Thames in his first-ever film role and Madeleine McGraw as Gwen

Thames plays Finney Shaw, ”a shy but clever 13-year-old boy who is abducted by a sadistic killer and trapped in a soundproof basement where screaming is of little use. When a disconnected phone on the wall begins to ring, Finney discovers that he can hear the voices of the killer’s previous victims. And they are dead set on making sure that what happened to them doesn’t happen to Finney.”

The movie hits theaters June 24th, 2022. Check out our review.

MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE 7 is Titled MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE – DEAD RECKONING PART ONE and The First Trailer Has Screened

During Paramount Pictures’ CinemaCon presentation they revealed that the next Mission: Impossible movie is titled Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One, and they also went on and premiered the first trailer for the film! There’s no work on when that trailer will be released, but I’m pretty sure it will debut with the release of Top Gun: Maverick next month.

The footage from the trailer is pretty freakin’ awesome, and there’s no doubt that this will be the most epic Mission: Impossible movie yet! The trailer that was screened is mostly a montage of exciting different and thrilling sequences from the film, but it puts a major focus on Tom Cruise’s Ethan Hunt and Henry Czerny‘s Eugene Kittridge, who is back in action for the first time since the first Mission: Impossible back in 1996.

The two characters are together in a room and as Kittridge is talking to Hunt he says:

“Your days of fighting for the so-called greater good are over. This is our chance to control the truth, the concepts of right and wrong for everyone for centuries to come. You’re fighting to save an ideal that doesn’t exist. Never did. You need to pick a side.”

Hunt has a shocked and surprised look on his face. While there’s a lot going on in the trailer, we still don’t really know what the plot of the movie is, but I don’t care… I’m already sold.

The trailer came to an end with a breathtaking moment that features Ethan Hunt riding through a jungle on a motorcycle, and then he drives it off the edge of a cliff! Hunt jumps off the motorcycle and just falls and falls and falls without deploying his shute and the trailer ends. It looks like one hell of an epic stunt and it was teased last year at CinemaCon in a behind-the-scenes video that was shown.

Mission: Impossible 7 was helmed by Christopher McQuarrie and it will be released on July 14th, 2023, and Mission: Impossible 8 is due on June 28, 2024.

Andy Serkis Is Set to Direct a Film Adaptation of THE GIANT’S HOUSE

Andy Serkis (Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle, Venom: Let There Be Carnage) has landed another directing gig, and he will be helming an adaptation of Elizabeth McCracken’s 1996 novel The Giant’s House.

The story follows Peggy Cort, “a young librarian who prefers the company of books to people. When James – a very, very, tall young man – visits her library, the two embark on a journey neither could have predicted.”

The novel has been hailed as “the most original and enchanting romance” and it’s said that it “transcends whimsy with the beauty of its writing.” Here’s a more detailed description from the book:

The year is 1950, and in a small town on Cape Cod twenty-six-year-old librarian Peggy Cort feels like love and life have stood her up. Until the day James Carlson Sweatt– the “over-tall” eleven-year-old boy who’s the talk of the town–walks into her library and changes her life forever. Two misfits whose lonely paths cross at the circulation desk, Peggy and James are odd candidates for friendship, but nevertheless they soon find their lives entwined in ways that neither one could have predicted. In James, Peggy discovers the one person who’s ever really understood her, and as he grows– six foot five at age twelve, then seven feet, then eight–so does her heart and their most singular romance.

Serkis is a talented actor that has done a lot of great things with films such as The BatmanStar WarsPlanet Of The Apes and Lord Of The Rings. The films he’s directed, though, have, in my opinion, been pretty mediocre. But maybe he’ll end up doing some cool things with this story as he brings it to life.

What would a CinemaCon 2022 Disney presentation be without any Pixar representation? Well, we were lucky enough to be able to watch 30 minutes of Disney/Pixar’s Lightyear, and let me tell you, this looks like it’s going to be another amazing Pixar film! If you want to know our thoughts on the footage we saw, check out our video reaction below!

The story follows “the legendary Space Ranger after he’s marooned on a hostile planet 4.2 million light-years from Earth alongside his commander and their crew. As Buzz tries to find a way back home through space and time, he’s joined by a group of ambitious recruits and his charming robot companion cat, Sox. The film stars Chris Evans as accomplished Space Ranger Buzz Lightyear, Uzo Aduba as his commander and best friend Alisha Hawthorne, and Peter Sohn as Sox. First Photos of Alicia Vikander in Olivier Assayas’s Adapted Series IRMA VEP

A few first look photos have been released of actress Alicia Vikander in the starring role of Irma Vep in the series based on the 1996 film written and directed by Olivier Assayas. The movie premiered at Cannes film festival, and the TV adaptation by Assayas is doing the same in an unprecedented move, as the festival has only ever accepted film submissions in the past.

The reimagined eight-part limited series stars Vikander along with Devon Ross, Carrie Brownstein, Adria Arjona, and Tom Sturridge.

Vogue reports, “In this new version, like in the film, a major movie star signs on to lead an adaptation of Les Vampires, Louis Feuillade’s silent film serial from 1915-1916. (“Irma Vep” is a character, and her name, a clever anagram.) Helming the production is the brilliant but mercurial René Vidal, and as the chaotic shoot goes on, the lines between fact and fiction, actor and character, become dangerously blurred. But unlike Cheung, who played a version of herself, Vikander plays Mira, an American actress keen to change the direction of her career—and shake off a recent tabloid scandal.“

Check out the photos from the series above and below, and catch Irma Vep when it hits HBO and HBO Max on June 6th.

CHERNOBYL Director Johan Renck Jumps On Board The DUNE: THE SISTERHOOD HBO Max Series

Chernobyl director Johan Renck is set to direct the first two episodes of the HBO Max series Dune: The Sisterhood. Dune director Denis Villeneuve is producing and developing the series and he was originally supposed to direct the pilot episode, but he is going to keep his focus on the films in the franchise and the sequel that he’s currently developing.

The story is set 10,000 years before Paul Atreides even existed and it follows the Harkonnen Sisters as they combat forces that threaten the future of humankind, and establish the fabled sect known as the Bene Gesserit.

The prequel series is “designed to co-exist” with the Dune films, and the story is told “through the eyes of a mysterious order of women known as the Bene Gesserit. Given extraordinary abilities by their mastery of the body and the mind, the Bene Gesserit expertly weave through the feudal politics and intrigue of The Imperium, pursuing plans of their own that will ultimately lead them to the enigmatic planet Arrakis, known to its inhabitants as Dune.”

John Spaihts, who co-wrote Dune’s script, also wrote The Sisterhood, and during a previous interview, he was asked about the series, and he said: “The Bene Gesserit have always been fascinating to me. Focusing a series around that powerful order of women seemed not only relevant and inspiring but a dynamic setting for the television series.”

Diane Ademu-John currently serves as its showrunner, and his credits include work on The Haunting of Bly Manor, The Originals, and The Vampire Diaries.

Renck is a talented director and I love what he did with Chornobyl. He’s currently finishing up his upcoming sci-fi feature film project Spaceman with Adam Sandler, Carey Mulligan and Paul Dano.

I’m a huge fan of what Villeneuve is doing with the Dune franchise and I’m excited to see this franchise continue to grow.
