The first trailer has been released for Hideo Kojima‘s long-awaited game Death Stranding and it’s nine minutes long! It’s packed full of cinematic footage, gameplay footage, and details on the story that it will tell.

After the collapse of civilization, Sam Bridges must journey across a ravaged landscape crawling with otherworldly threats to save mankind from the brink of extinction.

The game stars Norman Reedus in the role of Sam Porter Bridges and the trailer features him at work making deliveries across the devastated remains of the United States. Along the way he is being attacked by masked assailants with cattle prods and invisible monsters that turn swathes of the world into inky muck.

The game looks awesome and it also stars Mads Mikkelsen as Cliff, who is a researcher who speaks to a weird baby in a pod. He also plays the role of a badass commander of a squadron of skeletal soldiers. The game also stars Lea Seydoux as Fragile, Margaret Qualley as Mama, Guillermo del Toro as Deadman, Nicolas Winding Refn as Heartman, Tommy Earl Jenkins as Die-Hardman, Troy Baker as Higgs, and Lindsay Wagner as Amelie.

The game looks visually stunning and there is also some great creepy stuff packed into it as well. I love what I’m seeing here and I can’t wait to play it!

Death Stranding will be released on November 8th, 2019.
