Marvel Studios Will Release Up To Four Movies a Year Moving Forward

Marvel Studios is moving forward in a big way as they enter phase four of their plan. Not only will they be releasing more movies, but they are also developing several TV shows for Disney+ that are directly connected to the MCU.

As for how many movies Marvel releases per year moving forward, Walt Disney Studios co-chairman and chief creative officer Alan Horn confirmed they will release up to four a year. In a recent interview with THR, he said:

“[Marvel Studios head] Kevin Feige is working away. He will be making three or four a year. And they are very different from one another, so we’ll see.”

Obviously, there are no signs of Marvel slowing down. They’ve got lots of projects coming that will be there to entertain fans all year long for years to come, and I for one think it’s great!

I know some people complain about Marvel movies and superhero fatigue, but as long as they keep telling great and entertaining stories with these characters, then there’s nothing to complain about. Horn goes on to say:

“If the film has a compelling storyline, if it has heart and humor, two things that I insist on, and it’s terrifically well executed, I think there is an audience. But who knows?”

We get new comic books every week that continue to tell the stories of characters we love from several different publishers. Getting new stories like that in the form of films four times a year along with some TV shows sprinkled in as well seems like it’s not that bad or overwhelming. But, that’s just my opinion. It might be a little overwhelming for others.

One thing is for sure, we won’t have a lack of Marvel projects over the course of the next ten to twenty years!
