Hulu has released an extremely interesting and great new trailer for Stephen King and J.J. Abrams’ supernatural thriller Castle Rock.
The second season of the series will introduce Annie Wilkes in the series from King’s classic horrifying story, Misery. The synopsis explains that “a feud between warring clans comes to a boil when budding psychopath Annie Wilkes (Lizzy Caplan), Stephen King’s nurse from hell, gets waylaid in Castle Rock.”
Wilks is one of my favorite characters that King has created and I love that this second season is going to focus on her. The new trailer is filled with new footage and intriguing story details as the story will dive into the history of Castle Rock!

Here are some details on the cast of the series and the characters they play:
Paul Sparks (Boardwalk Empire, House of Cards) will play Castle Rock’s legendary bully, John “Ace” Merrill, who was originally played by Kiefer Sutherland in Stand By Me. Ace is said to be taking over “his uncle Pop’s (Tim Robbins) businesses and threatening a fragile peace with nearby Jerusalem’s Lot.”
Elsie Fisher (Eight Grade) will play Joy, “Annie’s home-schooled teenage daughter, Joy is starting to have questions about her mother’s sanity.”
Yusra Warsama (Assassin’s Creed: Origins) will Dr. Nadia Omar, “The Harvard-trained Somali medical director of a rural hospital in Jerusalem’s Lot, Dr. Omar’s rational and scientific mind will be put to the test.”
Barkhad Abdi (Blade Runner 2049) will portray Abdi Omar, “The tough, older brother of Nadia, Abdi leads the charge to build a Somali community center that will deepen the roots of his people in Maine.”
Matthew Alan (13 Reasons Why) will play Chris Merrill, “Pop’s nephew and Ace’s brother, Chris struggles to keep peace between the Merrills and the Somali community.”

A psychological-horror series set in the Stephen King multiverse, Castle Rock combines the mythological scale and intimate character storytelling of King’s best-loved works, weaving an epic saga of darkness and light, played out on a few square miles of Maine woodland. The fictional Maine town of Castle Rock has figured prominently in King’s literary career: Cujo, The Dark Half, IT and Needful Things, as well as novella The Body and numerous short stories (Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption) are set in there. Castle Rock is an original suspense/thriller — a first-of-its-kind reimagining that unites King’s themes and worlds, and brings together the author’s most iconic and beloved characters.
J.J. Abrams is producing the series with King, and it was created by Sam Shaw and Dustin Thomason.
