M. Night Shyamalan has started developing the story for a new original film project that he wants to make. He made the announcement on Twitter, and while he doesn’t offer any story details, he does say that it will be a sci-fi movie.

Outlining new film…. Has a little fun sci-fi bent. Feels so good to begin a new story.

Personally, I think Shyamalan has been a roll with great movies with The Visit, Split, and Glass. I loved those films and I’m looking forward to seeing what he’s got cooking up.
This wouldn’t be the first time that Shyamalan has tackled the sci-fi genre, he made an alien invasion film with Signs, which was an okay movie, and he made After Earth with Will Smith and Jaden Smith, which sucked. Hopefully, this new sci-fi project will be better than those.
I know a lot of critics and audiences didn’t care for his last film Glass, but I thought it was a great conclusion to a great story.
