Ya gotta love fan petitions! A new one has popped up from Game of Thrones fans who are very unhappy with how the final season of the series has turned out so far. When I scroll through social media I see all the rabid fans who are completely pissed off at David Benioff and D.B. Weiss with how they are handling the story and characters.
So, to show HBO how unhappy the fans are, Dylan D has launched a petition to have Game of Thrones Season 8 remade with “competent writers.” The petition reads:
David Benioff and D.B. Weiss have proven themselves to be woefully incompetent writers when they have no source material (i.e. the books) to fall back on.
This series deserves a final season that makes sense.
Subvert my expectations and make it happen, HBO!
Yeah, I think we all know that’s not going to happen. This is it for the series. For the fans who want the real ending, they are just going to have to wait forever for George R.R. Martin to finish his final two books.
These fan petitions never work. This one has a goal of reaching 500,000 signatures and as of writing this post, almost 400,000 fans have signed the petition and that number is growing fast! That’s pretty solid proof that a lot of fans have are not happy with final season. But, I do know a lot of other people that are enjoying it and that’s great for them!
We’ve got one episode left to wrap up this epic fantasy story, and it’ll be interesting to see what the reactions of the fans will be after it airs.
