Apple TV+ has released a new trailer for Shailee Steinfeld’s new period drama, Dickinson, which tells a story of the rebelious rise of literary icon Emily Dickenson. This is an interesting looking series because while it’s set in the 19th, there’s a modern feel to it, as it explores Emily’s rebelliousness, and she uses words like “dude.” The new trailer also shows her thinking and writing about the concept of death.

Here is the synopsis for Dickinson:

“Dickinson” is a coming-of-age story told through the lens of Emily Dickinson that finds her to be an unexpected hero for our millennial era.  Set in the 19th century, the series explores the constraints of society, gender and family from the perspective of a rebellious young poet who was ahead of her time.

The series was created, written and executive produced by Alena Smith and Steinfeld is an executive producer on it as well. Dickinson also Jane Krakowski, Toby Huss, Anna Baryshnikov, Ella Hunt and Adrian Blake Enscoe. Wiz Khalifa guest stars.

Dickinson premieres on Apple TV+ streaming service which launches November 1, 2019. The trailer also features Steinfeld’s new single “Afterlife.” I’ll give the show a shot, will you?
