Rogue Origin Films has created a live action fan video short based on Kingdom Hearts to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the franchise. Kingdom Hearts: Dream of Another World picks up 10 years after Kingdom Hearts III and features Kairi and Riku in the search for Sora. Bulk of the video is Kairi fighting some heartless to the classic “Simple and Clean” we all know and love from the soundtrack. The martial arts by Jackie Tran and stunts by Devante Thomas look really cool and it would be fun to see behind the scenes to see how they filmed the fight. The costuming looks great, but is it even a Kingdom Hearts costume if there aren’t at least 5 unnecessary zippers? I suppose the comically large zipper on Riku’s costume must make up for that though. Yes I know the costumes are replicas of the Kingdom Hearts III looks, but with there being a huge time difference I think a little liberty could have been taken with the clothes. While the keyblade looked really good, I was disappointed they went with such a simple looking one when there are so many amazing options to choose from. The heartless also really impressed me, they definitely took on a more human shape but still looked threatening. The whole thing is short, but worth watching. Let me know what you think.
