New Clip From RESPECT Shows Jennifer Hudson Singing Aretha Franklin’s Most Iconic Song

A new clip has been released from the Aretha Franklin biopic Respect, in which we get to see Jennifer Hudson portraying the the Queen of Soul, belting out her most iconic song, the namesake of the film. Not many singers could step into the shoes of Franklin, with her voice being so powerful and amazing, but Hudson absolutely does her justice.

Respect is directed by Liesel Tommy, from a script by from Tracey Scott Wilson and Callie Khouri.

Here’s the synopsis:

Following the rise of Aretha Franklin’s career from a child singing in her father’s church’s choir to her international superstardom, Respect is the remarkable true story of Franklin’s journey to find her voice.
