Google Stadia recently hit the 1-year mark. Congratulations to them! Stadia is a fine platform, albeit far from perfect, and I’ve enjoyed some time on it. It’s nice to only need a Chrome browser sometimes so I can play on my Chromebook. Well, to celebrate their first year, Google has some great plans.
The biggest plan involves the most highly anticipated game of the year: Cyberpunk 2077. If you pre-order the game, you will be gifted Stadia Premiere Edition while supplies last. This applies even if you’ve pre-ordered the game for Stadia. Simply follow these instructions if you pre-order before December 10:
Follow this link. You may not see a mention of Stadia Premiere Edition listed on the Cyberpunk 2077 web page yet, but you’re in the right place. You’ll need a Stadia account to sign up for the offer, no subscription required.
Click the “Pre-order on Stadia” button.
You’ll receive an email and redemption code within a week of the game launching.
Follow email instructions for code redemption. We’ll do our best to deliver your Stadia Premiere Edition during the busiest time of the year. Please allow several weeks for shipping. Terms apply. Note that this may or may not arrive prior to the holidays, given proximity to the end of the year.
If you order the game between December 10-17 (the first week of the game’s release), you can still score a copy of Stadia Premiere Edition:
If you’d rather wait until the game comes out, just buy Cyberpunk 2077 for $59.99 USD (€59.99) in the Stadia store December 10 through December 17 (while supplies last), then follow steps 3-4 above. If you’re a Stadia Pro subscriber and this is your first purchase in the Stadia store, you can also save $10 on the game when you purchase Cyberpunk 2077 this way.
This is a great way to save about $40 on Stadia Premiere Edition! Also, Google says they’ll do their best to get all the packages out to people in a timely manner, but fans must remember that this is a buys time of the year for shipping and so it may take several weeks.
This deal isn’t the only thing to celebrate though. Public iOS Beta testing is going to be launching in several weeks. Also, Destiny 2 New Light is the first game available for free to all Stadia players. You can jump right into the action by using this link.
Stadia has been growing a lot over the last year adding over 100 games to their library. They’ve also added features since launch including Crowd Play, Crowd Choice, State Share beta, and more. Stadia Pro members can experience more than 65 games for free, with 31 of those coming just this month. Yes, it’s true that we have no idea how long it will be until Google gets bored and no longer supports Stadia, but for now, it seems to be picking up steam.
