Shudder has released the official US trailer for an upcoming Korean horror thriller titled Metamorphosis. If you enjoy watching Korean horror movies as much as I do, this is one that definitely looks like it’s worth checking out.
The film is said to have an “inventive and knowing new take on demonic possession.” The story follows Joong-Su, an exorcist, who “must face a demon he tragically failed to defeat in the past when it targets his brother’s family next. The demon assumes the form of different family members to sow confusion and distrust, destroying the unit from within. With his loved ones in peril, Joong-Su must face the demon once again, at the risk of his own life.”
I really like the twist on the concept that it offers as the demon is destroying the family from within by possessing and assuming the form of various members of that family.
The movie was directed by Hong-seon Kim (Traffickers, The Con Artists, and The Chase) and it stars Bae Sung-Woo, Sung Dong-Il, Jang Young-Nam, Kim Hye-Jun, Cho Yi-Hyun, and Kim Kang-Hoon.
Shudder will release Metamorphosis on July 2nd.
