If your curious to know what Back to the Future: The Musical looks like, thanks to London Theatre Reviews we have our first look and I’ve gotta say… I’m impressed!
Early previews of the musical directed by Tony Award-winning director John Rando (Urinetown, On The Town) started playing at the Manchester Opera House just last week, which is where the photos were taken. It looks like this would be a fun play to see!
The image feature Olly Dobson as Marty McFly, Courtney-Mae Briggs as his girlfriend Jennifer Parker, Hugh Coles as George McFly, Aidan Cutler as Biff Tannen, Rosanna Hyland as Lorraine Baines, and Roger Bart as Doc Brown. As you’ll see, there’s even a full-sized DeLorean on stage!
I’m sure you’ll recognize most of the scenes that are presented in these images. Here’s the synopsis:
BACK TO THE FUTURE The Musical is directed by Tony Award-winning director John Rando (Urinetown, On The Town) and stars Roger Bart (Desperate Housewives, Stepford Wives, The Producers) as ‘Doctor Emmett Brown’, Olly Dobson as ‘Marty McFly’, Hugh Coles as ‘George McFly’, Rosanna Hyland as ‘Lorraine Baines’ and Cedric Neal as ‘Goldie Wilson’.
Based on the Universal Pictures/Amblin Entertainment film, BACK TO THE FUTURE The Musical will have a book by Bob Gale, featuring 16 new songs with music and lyrics by Emmy and Grammy Award-winning Alan Silvestri and six-time Grammy Award-winning Glen Ballard, with additional songs from the film including The Power of Love and Johnny B. Goode.
Hopefully, one day Back to the Future: The Musical will make its way here to the states so that I can watch it! Check out all the photos below and tell us what you think!
