STRANGER THINGS 4 Teaser Trailer Reveals That Hopper is Alive and in the Soviet Union

The end of Stranger Things 3 had a lot of fans freaking out over Chief Jim Hopper (David Harbour) and left us wondering if he was really dead! I think most fans knew better, though. There was no way they were going to kill off Hooper! He’s such a great character and the fans love him and it was obvious to me that they were just going to set him up for a crazy and unexpected story arc!

Well, Netflix has dropped the first teaser trailer for Stranger Things 4 and the first thing they reveal is that Hooper is alive and he’s living and being forced to work in the Soviet Union. In case you forgot, it was teased at the end of Stranger Things 3 that Hooper was imprisoned in Russia.

In a statement released with the teaser, the Duffer Brothers said in a statement:

We’re excited to officially confirm that production on Stranger Things 4 is now underway — and even more excited to announce the return of Hopper! Although it’s not all good news for our “American”; he is imprisoned far from home in the snowy wasteland of Kamchatka, where he will face dangers both human…and other. Meanwhile, back in the states, a new horror is beginning to surface, something long buried, something that connects everything….

Season 4 is shaping up to be the biggest and most frightening season yet, and we cannot wait for everyone to see more. In the meantime — pray for the American.”

From Russia with love,

The Duffer Brothers
